General Description
Confers with inter- and intra-agency personnel to transact business, gather information, or discuss information related to Forensic Service’s program relative to circuit court hearings, required court updates and other requirements. Confers with WV Assistant Attorney Generals assigned to WVDHHR to ensure accurate data is gathered and reported as required. Decision making on acceptance of court orders and confers with judges, prosecutors, and attorneys relative to court orders received from WV circuit courts on statewide forensic patients in a timely manner with accuracy and follow up if required. Gathers and compiles data for state records relative to tracking and reporting on length of stay, transfer/diversion, and census for statewide forensic patients. Compilation of data for reports involving the activities of Forensic Services to provide accurate information to Bureau for Behavioral Health, General Counsel, and Department of Health Facilities (DHF) leadership and administration. Provide administrative assistance and technical guidance to statewide Forensic Medical Director, statewide Forensic Director, Sharpe Hospital Forensic Coordinator, Community Forensic Coordinators, DHF personnel, and staff at other facilities where forensic patients are housed. Performs related duties as required.
Mandatory overtime is an essential function of this position. Schedules are subject to change per operational needs of the facility. Selected applicants must successfully complete a chemical urinalysis and a breath analysis drug screening. All employees will be subject to drug testing for probable cause as set forth in agency and bureau policies. Applicants selected must successfully complete a background check.
Minimum Qualifications
Education: High school diploma or the equivalent.
Experience: One year of full-time or equivalent part-time experience performing clerical duties that encompass a wide range of office practices, which include typing, screening and routing telephone calls and correspondence, and composing routing correspondence.
Substitution: Additional education and experience may be substituted based on a year-for-year basis or as determined by the Office of Shared Administration Equivalency Chart.
